About Us
CONER, CATHOLICS OF NORTH EAST REGION is a small community founded in 1998. The aim of this group is to foster relation between the students and those working catholics hailing from the so called, Seven sisters, Sikkim, Dargeeling. Our coming together is once in a month. The main motivation is to help and assist in the spiritual needs of the catholics hailing from these places. This group is assisted by the Fathers, Brothers and Sisters studing at JDV, Pune.
Since the members are scattered far and wide, it is difficult to come together often but initiatives are taken by the Fathers, Brothers and Sisters to trace out the every member who are still yet to know about CONER. We also have coordinators from the students' community to assist in the common effort.
Retreats are conducted and provisions for making confessions are also arranged for the members. The students and working people are given chances to read the word of God during the masses. They also take part in presenting special numbers after the mass. During the Christmas we as a group go for Christmas carol singing to different places.
The group gathers at St. Vincent's Higher secondary School, Pune, Camp every first sunday of the month. According to the need, the venue for the mass is sometimes shifted either to Holy Cross seminary, De Nobilli College or Papal Seminary.
With the new technology that has become very handy and at every one's disposal, Short messages are sent to every member about the coming events well ahead of time. So far, the group is making lots of progress with the help of the contributions from many generous people.
